ܕܢܬ ܕܝܢ ܗܕܐ ܒܢܦܫܝ ܕܠܐ ܬܘܒ ܒܟܪܝܘܬܐ ܐܬܐ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ
lwthkwn 'th' bkrywth' thwb dl' bnpshy hd' dyn dnth
But I determined this for myself, that I would not come to you again in sorrow.

ܐܢ ܐܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܡܟܪܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܢܘ ܢܚܕܝܢܝ ܐܠܐ ܗܘ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܟܪܝܬ ܠܗ
lh 'kryth d'n' hw 'l' nkhdyny mnw lkwn 'n' mkr' gyr 'n' 'n
For if I make you sorry, then who will make me glad but he who is made sorry by me?

ܘܕܟܬܒܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܗܝ ܗܕܐ ܕܠܐ ܟܕ ܐܬܐ ܢܟܪܘܢ ܠܝ ܗܢܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܘܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܗܢܘܢ ܢܚܕܘܢܢܝ ܬܟܝܠ ܐܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܥܠ ܟܠܟܘܢ ܕܚܕܘܬܝ ܕܟܠܟܘܢ ܗܝ
hy dklkwn dkhdwthy klkwn el dyn 'n' thkyl nkhdwnny dhnwn lhwn hw' dwl' 'ylyn hnwn ly nkrwn 'th' kd dl' hd' hy lkwn wdkthbth
And I wrote this very thing to you, so that, when I came, I wouldn’t have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy would be shared by all of you.

ܘܡܢ ܐܘܠܨܢܐ ܪܒܐ ܘܡܢ ܐܢܘܣܝܐ ܕܠܒܐ ܟܬܒܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܒܕܡܥܐ ܣܓܝܐܬܐ ܠܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܬܟܪܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܬܕܥܘܢ ܚܘܒܐ ܝܬܝܪܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܝ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ
lwthkwn ly d'yth ythyr' khwb' dthdewn mTl 'l' lkwn dthkr' mTl l' sgy'th' bdme' hlyn lkwn kthbth dlb' 'nwsy' wmn rb' 'wltsn' wmn
For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears, not that you should be made sorry, but that you might know the love that I have so abundantly for you.

ܐܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܢܫ ܐܟܪܝ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܐܟܪܝ ܐܠܐ ܒܨܝܪܐ ܩܠܝܠ ܠܟܠܟܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܬܐܩܪ ܡܠܬܐ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ
elykwn mlth' th'qr dl' lklkwn qlyl btsyr' 'l' 'kry ly hw' l' 'kry 'nsh dyn 'n
But if any has caused sorrow, he has caused sorrow, not to me, but in part (that I not press too heavily) to you all.

ܟܕܘ ܠܗ ܕܝܢ ܠܗܢܐ ܟܐܬܐ ܕܡܢ ܣܓܝܐܐ
sgy'' dmn k'th' lhn' dyn lh kdw
This punishment which was inflicted by the many is sufficient for such a one;

ܘܡܟܝܠ ܐܚܪܢܝܐܝܬ ܘܠܐ ܕܬܫܒܩܘܢ ܠܗ ܘܬܒܝܐܘܢܗ ܕܠܡܐ ܒܟܪܝܘܬܐ ܝܬܝܪܬܐ ܢܬܒܠܥ ܠܗ ܗܘ ܡܢ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܗܘ
hw dhkn' mn hw lh nthble ythyrth' bkrywth' dlm' wthby'wnh lh dthshbqwn wl' 'khrny'yth wmkyl
so that on the contrary you should rather forgive him and comfort him, lest by any means such a one should be swallowed up with his excessive sorrow.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܒܥܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܕܬܫܪܪܘܢ ܒܗ ܚܘܒܟܘܢ
khwbkwn bh dthshrrwn mnkwn 'n' be' hn' mTl
Therefore I beg you to confirm your love toward him.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܟܬܒܬ ܐܦ ܕܐܕܥ ܒܢܣܝܢܐ ܐܢ ܒܟܠܡܕܡ ܡܫܬܡܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ
'nthwn mshthmeyn bklmdm 'n bnsyn' d'de 'p kthbth gyr hn' mTl
For to this end I also wrote, that I might know the proof of you, whether you are obedient in all things.

ܠܡܢ ܕܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܫܒܩܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܦ ܐܢܐ ܐܦ ܐܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܡܕܡ ܕܫܒܩܬ ܠܡܢ ܕܫܒܩܬ ܡܛܠܬܟܘܢ ܗܘ ܫܒܩܬ ܒܦܪܨܘܦܗ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ
dmshykh' bprtswph shbqth hw mTlthkwn dshbqth lmn dshbqth mdm gyr 'n' 'p 'n' 'p 'nthwn shbqyn dyn d'nthwn lmn
Now I also forgive whomever you forgive anything. For if indeed I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven that one for your sakes in the presence of Christ,

ܕܠܐ ܢܥܠܒܢ ܣܛܢܐ ܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܓܝܪ ܡܚܫܒܬܗ
mkhshbthh gyr ydeynn sTn' nelbn dl'
that no advantage may be gained over us by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his schemes.

ܟܕ ܐܬܝܬ ܕܝܢ ܠܛܪܘܐܣ ܒܣܒܪܬܗ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ ܘܐܬܦܬܚ ܠܝ ܬܪܥܐ ܒܡܪܝܐ
bmry' thre' ly w'thpthkh dmshykh' bsbrthh lTrw's dyn 'thyth kd
Now when I came to Troas for the Good News of Christ, and when a door was opened to me in the Lord,

ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܢܝܚܐ ܒܪܘܚܝ ܕܠܐ ܐܫܟܚܬ ܠܛܛܘܣ ܐܚܝ ܐܠܐ ܫܪܝܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܢܦܩܬ ܠܝ ܠܡܩܕܘܢܝܐ
lmqdwny' ly wnpqth 'nwn shryth 'l' 'khy lTTws 'shkkhth dl' brwkhy nykh' ly hw' l'
I had no relief for my spirit, because I didn’t find Titus, my brother, but taking my leave of them, I went out into Macedonia.

ܛܝܒܘ ܕܝܢ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܕܒܟܠ ܙܒܢ ܚܙܬܐ ܥܒܕ ܠܢ ܒܡܫܝܚܐ ܘܓܠܐ ܒܢ ܪܝܚܐ ܕܝܕܥܬܗ ܒܟܠ ܐܬܪ
'thr bkl dydethh rykh' bn wgl' bmshykh' ln ebd khzth' zbn dbkl l'lh' dyn Tybw
Now thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and reveals through us the sweet aroma of his knowledge in every place.

ܪܝܚܐ ܚܢܢ ܓܝܪ ܒܣܝܡܐ ܒܡܫܝܚܐ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܒܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܚܐܝܢ ܘܒܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܐܒܕܝܢ
d'bdyn wb'ylyn dkh'yn b'ylyn l'lh' bmshykh' bsym' gyr khnn rykh'
For we are a sweet aroma of Christ to God, in those who are saved, and in those who perish;

ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܪܝܚܐ ܕܡܘܬܐ ܠܡܘܬܐ ܘܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܪܝܚܐ ܕܚܝܐ ܠܚܝܐ ܘܠܗܠܝܢ ܡܢܘ ܢܫܘܐ
nshw' mnw wlhlyn lkhy' dkhy' drykh' wl'ylyn lmwth' dmwth' drykh' l'ylyn
to the one a stench from death to death; to the other a sweet aroma from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?

ܠܐ ܗܘܝܢ ܓܝܪ ܐܝܟ ܫܪܟܐ ܕܡܡܙܓܝܢ ܡܠܘܗܝ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܒܫܪܪܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܕܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܩܕܡ ܐܠܗܐ ܒܡܫܝܚܐ ܡܡܠܠܝܢܢ
mmllynn bmshykh' 'lh' qdm 'lh' dmn w'yk dbshrr' 'yk 'l' d'lh' mlwhy dmmzgyn shrk' 'yk gyr hwyn l'
For we are not as so many, peddling the word of God. But as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, we speak in Christ.
